Currituck Sound and Lighthouse.

South of Hampton Roads,

lies maritime Currituck Sound,

there is abundant fish and waterfowl,

dozens of Canadian geese and ducks,

dot the islands peacefully flying around,

Since 1875, a beacon of light shines,

that sometimes leaves one bemused,

it's the Currituck Beach Lighthouse,

lighting the sailors way,

down the Currituck waterway.

Cape Henry resides to the north,

and Bodie Island to the south,

close to where the lighthouse is found,

and the pristine saltwater resounds,

near a place called Corolla's Currituck Banks.

Old Currituck beautiful you are,

leaves one in a harmonious peace,

the beauty of a windy salt shore,

fish so bounteous in Cypress Creek to labor for,

I digress, to leave Currituck Sound I just deplore.
