True Strength

Poetry By: rebel

Well, I really enjoyed writing this one. It's about a girl in a relationship with this guy. She's not happy where she is, and she knows the guy doesn't love her, but still, she tries to keep him happy. In the end, she gives up on hoping that he'll love her, and becomes a stronger person because of it.

If I pretend that I'm okay,

Can you safely walk away?

Leave me in my own despair?

Hold on to what isn't there?

If I pretend I'm happy here,

Can you read my hidden fear?

Will you choose to love me soon?

Hold on to my heart's one tune?

If I pretend to smile for you,

Can you see my soul right through?

Read me like an open book?

Hold on to my one last look?

If I pretend to make this last,

Can you lift the spell you've cast?

Leave me in my own despair,

I don't need your help or care.
