When you fall asleep,
You dream of the one who could make you happy.
No matter how much pain that relationship gave you,
Thinking of it gives you some joy.
When you’re lost in your dreams
About what could have happened,
Somewhere, somebody else,
Is not sleeping, and cry.
They pray, while you’re sleeping,
To open up your eyes,
To open up them wide,
And see the truth before you.
When you feel hurt, there’s somebody else
Who are willing to heal you.
But you just ignore them,
You’re deep inside that dream,
So deep that I’m afraid
That you’ll never wake up!
If it suits you like this,
Keep up dreaming and suffering.
After all, it’s in our nature;
Humans are fond of pain.
Whatever you do
You should never complain,
It was a choice you took your own,
To pick up coal instead of gold.
