Un(selfish)

Every night I pray,
I ask for hope and a smile.
I ask to move mountains,
for all I crave.

Do not leave Me tomorrow,
for tomorrow I write test.
This will greatly benefit Me,
and I do not want My parents to spank Me.

and out of habit I quickly pray
for others all too brave.
Afterall, I am not selfish,
I am kind.

but far in the cold night with chattering teeth,
a family in worn clothes softly and gently prays.
Thank you Lord, for the porridge.
we lack nothing, but please give the Less Fortunate strength.
