THE SEASONS MARCH

Life is but a fleeting dance,

Of pleasure, pain, or wild romance

A dance of days, till kingdom come

A beating heart, a pounding drum,

And as we chase the rainbows arch,

With every breath the seasons march

This life is but a fleeting dance

Of pleasure, pain, or wild romance

KT. That first word you use...I could not find it in the Dictionary which is a crime! (I found 'oh', but yours is much better!!) LOL.

Oh, wow, Ricky. Beautiful.

I was watching the sunset earlier with my two daughters (it's beautiful out here in the country), and was thinking to myself, no two sunsets are alike. Like your poetry, they're all beautiful, colors varying, the senses heightened, and yet they are all so different.

Hi MA. Thanks for your descriptive feedback. I am out in the surrounding countryside any chance I get. There was a stunning sunset over our hills last night with a dramatic cloud formation. Priceless. Ricky.

wow, remind me to read more of your stuff, lol. I loved it. "Life is but a fleeting dance" *sigh* this was really lovely!

Great to know my poem appealed to the Flying Piggy!!!!!

This is a memorable poem - one to endure the ages. I can imagine it being taught in a school room because it is so rythmic, perfect and says something about life.

It's kind of bitter-sweet don't you think? Life can seem short but I belive there's a plan for us all. Thanks for the feedback Anna.

So true, good piece Ricky.

Thanks Rainey. I tried to encompass life in a few lines, which certainly was a challenge!

wow. i must admit this reads like a classic, the flow is perfect and a delight to read, it seemed like so many ideas into a short piece, it really impressed me, i feel that the line of " of pleasure, pain or wild romance" is just amazing, it really feels like the clincher. like a line you'd remember from a classic poem, you captured the fleeting life of humans and also its beauty because of it, well done stunning writing freind!!!

Hi Zenith. I'm really pleased this one seems popular, as I did not know how it would be recieved. I try to get a sound-bite somewhere in every poem..not always easy!! All the best.

Love it love it love it!

Hi Theresa. Well, a big thankyou for becoming a fan, and leaving some encouraging comments. Much appreciated.

As the flower fades and grass wilts so does this physical life. Though the outward man perish, the inward man is renewed day by day. Love your poem.

Absolutely. We need to focus on the things that will not die, but last. Ricky.

Yikes Ricky! I actually found this quite unnerving.Think it must be the dizzy pace - life is short indeed.

Great stuff, Ricky! I wonder if October was reminded of the rituals in the Wickerman?! It certainly has that paganistic feeling of being swept away by the power of nature, an effective Spring in its step!
