When she wanted to commit suicide
She called me
And I told her to stay
Wait for me
Lay in bed
And just dream
When she was addicted
She called me
I told her to stay in bed
Just dream
And wait for me
When she was scared
She called me
And I told her
To just dream
I’ll wait and watch
When you sleep
To protect and comfort, always
When her wrists were bloody
She called me
And I told her to dream
Lay in bed
Wait for me
And we cried together
I held her in my arms
And whispered, “I’ll always be there,” in her ear
But one day
She died in a car crash
I did not lay in bed
I did not dream
I did not cry
My heart was broken
And I slashed my fucking wrists
Because all I wanted was to die.
