Stepping off

Poem By: S Nayar
Poetry

I wrote this over a year agao - not really knowing what inspired it except this image of someone in an uncertain place - not really knowing what the future held. Really hitting home in my personal circumstances at the moment as I am in the midst of several new beginings and realising that God is still in control of it all. View table of contents...

Standing at the edge of the unknown
The next step murky,
A churning, smoke-filled abyss

Questions drowning my mind
Uncertainty tugging at my soul
So many uneducated guesses
How to move forward?

The voices are clamouring...
What will become of you?
What if you fail?
You will never make it...

SILENCE!

Anticipation filling my pounding heart
Butterflies dancing in my churning stomach
I must step off
My future is calling

Deep breath in...
O' God here I come
Stepping off into the mist
I'm falling, O God help me!
I'm falling....

Gotcha!
Gusts of comfort propel me upwards
Security swirling around my soul
Arms that have never failed me
encase me  into deep folds of trust,
hope, peace, life anew

I am floating ... no soaring!
I am enveloped in the Ever Faithful One
I cannot fail
My future is secure
I am not afraid anymore
