The Plum Grove

Poem By: S R Forbes

There's a funny story behind this poem. It was a class assignment back in high school; we were randomly given three words and had to write a poem containing these words. I believe mine were "talons," "whirlwind" and "funnel." Enjoy! View table of contents...

The Plum Grove

Slippin’ through a plum grove

Plums boxin’, aimin’ for my eyes.

Plums pum-pum-pummelin’ my eyes.

Explodin’ purple bang-bang

Purple in my eyes.

                The toes in my feet

Clingin’ to the ground,

Curlin’ hawk’s talons

Clingin’ to the ground,

Tryin’ not to back away.

A purple whirlwind of plum-plums

Funnels round-and-round

                And knocks me down!

Enjoyed it! I can feel the texture of those "talons" already!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Thanks! Happy Holidays!

Wow, impressive, I hate assignments like that. I suck at writing around anything defined, but you did an excellent job.

Thanks! I actually thought the assignment was kinda fun, but you're right, it is a challenge!
