Fancied even by every sage
And every monk or saint,
Very young was she in age
A lady so very radiant.
By angels was she sent
Glowed her face to feet,
Simple was she and innocent
Her beauty none could defeat.
But fell upon her illness
Which led to her end,
Filled her body stillness
To heavens she did ascend.
She was full of humour
Her locks adored her head,
Suffered she from tumour
Which gradually did spread.
Went away she leaving me
So sorrowful was the soul,
Devils did laugh and glee
As her knell did toll.
