Star Gaze

Poetry By: sam3

this is open to interpretation
i don't know where my mind was when i wrote this
it was in the middle of an English exam this morning
my mind was scrambled....
though while i was writing this my mind wandered to the beautiful night sky..............

There's a shooting star!

Catch it before it falls
Make a wish upon it
Maybe it'll answer your call
You stay and you wait
Another moment another day
But the star dust has long faded away
It leaves empty promises
A plain night sky
The stars still twinkle
But they're only lies
They tell lies with their beauty
Cratered in the moon;
The comet came and passed,
But it left too soon…
Now reminiscent on that moment
The flash across the sky
T6hough many years have passed
They still tell the same lie
When you've grown so old, creased with age
You curse the sky to never look up again
And the years pass
And you bore that pain
But in the last moment
You take your last glance
And you wish to the sky
"…Give me another chance…"
