Change of Seasons

Poetry By: Savannah Ray

My 15 year old daughter decided to try her hand at poetry for an assignment for school. This is the very first poem she has ever written. Feedback is most appreciated. (Written 1/4/2013)

Sure as the days pass, the seasons change.

Why does nothing remain the same?

Change is always upon us.

Trees are dancing rapidly in the wind.

The leaves drop.

The sky turns grey.

The snow begins to fall.

Change comes with each new day.

It is the change that I fear.

The fear overcomes me as if I was falling.

Change can also bring better things.

The sunshine melts the snow.

The reflection ends my fear.

Change has brought me freedom.

Only happiness remains.

My rollercoaster of emotions no longer hold me.

I am free to fly.

The flowers will grow.

The chains have broken and I am free to flow.

Change is always upon us.

The darkness yet again creeps in.

Nothing remains the same.

Change is good.

Change is bad.

Nothing remains the same.

Just like the seasons, it all comes to an end.
