My Philosophy on Life

Poetry By: Savannah Ray
Poetry

This was written on September 17, 1992 for an English journal assignment. Considering I was only 18 years old at the time, I am amazed at how this "philosophy" is still what I believe in my adult years.

Look at the world and feel free....for that is how it is meant to be.

Listen to others as they speak....for they may be feeling somewhat meek.

Pray to God with all your might....for He can help you win any fight.

Turn toward your neighbor and express love....for He will be watching you from above.

Lend your strength and lend your hand....for you can help build a much better land.

Set for yourself many, many goals....for don't leave any open holes.

Don't give up when the road gets tough....for be strong, be oh so tough.

Speak only the truth though others may not....for honesty is a virtue one has got.

Take all misfortunes that come with stride....for you shouldn't just go run and hide.

Never compare yourself to others....for treat everyone as if they are your brothers.

Live your life with each passing day....for "live life to the fullest" as they say.

Be generous and be kind....for always keep others on your mind.

With others you will never really part....for they will forever be in your heart.
