Birds Of The Air

Poetry By: SavvyApple

Something ELSE my cousin wrote... I don't think he knows how poetic he is. He should be a poet. Anyone else with me here?
Well anyways, please enjoy his poetic rant.

I guess what little freedom we had,
is not but a flash in out memory.
Just another grain of sand,
in the time of our lives,
just a quick smile when we're all alone.
School is tomorrow,
and my heart is beating the drums of my chest,
I'm just another tree in the forest,
sometimes cut down,
but still digging in the ground
with love, stretching in the sky with hope.
So many choices,
just one me.
These thoughts float in my head,
until the sun broke through the clouds,
a faint drizzle rattled the roof,
and all the birds of the air cut silent.
I slap my alarm,
and heave a heavy sigh for the upcoming day.
