Dreaming of Tana by Scott Shadden
You and I were holding hands
Running and laughing in the sand
Like young kids in their first love
We smiled and kissed each other
We sat under the trees in the shade
All we knew was we had it made
I touched your face and kissed your neck
You put your arms around me and held me tight
Together we sat and talked for hours
We took a walk we picked pretty flowers
The sky was bright and the birds all sang
Like a love song meant just for us
You grabbed me and spun me round
Together we fell to the ground
Happy and full of joy
For the love we had found
I brushed your hair back to see your eyes
Your hand held mine against your breast
We kissed our first kiss
We couldn't stop
Hours went by in the blink of an eye
The angels sang for you and I
Together we lay in each others arms
Softly we slept while the sun kept us warm
When I opened my eyes I began to cry
For something so beautiful I asked God why
Am I alone where's my girl
He said my son you were dreaming
Of something yet to be
All you have to do is believe
And have faith in me.
