Each unique snow flake

and its luggage of personality

Settles upon Kongens Nytorv,

constructing a royal blanket of white

I take in a healthy breath of Christmas

a jingle of cold fills my lungs

Then follow the sound of Yule cheer

the crisp snap of ice in my wake

Soon a collection of Scandinavian voice

and the scent of mulled spice

Invites my well wrapped body

into a cozy bar on Nyhavn

Their smiles are broad,

all cheeks bare bruising of happiness

Candles slowly burn,

yellow flames caught in every glass

The wooden floor reveals

the dirty slush from shaken shoe

A collection of knitted wool

adorns every crowded table

A bunker to the bitter winter

a gathering of human spirit

The bond, strong alcohol

a numbing of the December chill

My window view

acknowledges the holy clouds

As small crystals of ice are

randomly sifted from heaven

My thoughts are with mankind

and the love Copenhagen sends

Is in the voices of Carol singers

and the prayer within all our hearts

I hope it reaches each of you

and may 2008 be the year

When each human hand, finds another

and unites in our onward spiritual journey

Merry Christmas

and a happy new year

Kongens Nytorv prounounced Kongs New torf (kings new square)

Nyhavn prounounced new how-n (new harbour)
