The floor of geriatric age

is old oak, well polished

Time and her siblings

slip on the punishing ice

The surface is pitted

teasing memories to fall

The over buffed boards

reflect a suited antique

My lungs host enough breath

for one last dance

My eyes close

again her perfume haunts the air

I grip her hand

we glide the marley floor

My tears blessed

to once again dampen her beauty

As the last verse fades

and the song of life is complete

We continue to waltz

eternally alone ........as time bids farewell
