Your claims of being ready

your declaration to be a witness

Tug at my Venetian mask

supporting ribbons fall loose

I hope your eyes ready

your quest for truth strong

But to the sound of breaking china

you take flight, disappear into the night

Why did you run, what do you fear?

Exposed and vulnerable

I fall to my knees

Repair where able the damage to my guise

The moon echoes your name

my calls for your return in vain

I tighten the knot in such a fashion

it will not be so easily freed again

Not everyone can face the truth despite their resolve and we have to put back the mask to calm them. I liked this.
