A walk through the night.

The sky is the arched back

of a black panther

Within her swarthy fur

diamonds flash their inner light

Each muscle moved

shifting the map of Orion

A stubborn puddle

proof of yesterdays rain

Holds perfectly still

the crescent moon

Nocturnal ears ignore her calls

of false imprisonment

A post funeral silence

travels the dark avenue

Skeletal trees huddle

and whisper amongst themselves

Their idol gossip

the fabric of this night
