Narrow red point of rolled barb wire

Scribble poetry into these shirt less arms

Allow the weight and rust clothed staples

To puncture deep and paragraph wounds

Be slow to end your verse

I want to bleed for your art

Each crimson sentence

A quote for the wise

Narrow red point of rolled barb wire

You prescribe a heavy level of pain

One I tolerate, under the condition of love

One I endure, for sins that fog my past

Be slow to end your verse

This tattoo should never heal

Upon my last breath

Apply the last full stop

Narrow red point of rolled barb wire

Seek a new blank pink canvas

Where your scribed lyrics

Can find an audience, I never could

Be slow to end your verse

For they are more worthy

Already the ink you pressed

Fades under the light of heaven
