Patched With The Finest Snow

Poetry By: Scribblings of a middle aged mad man

Snowy times here in Denmark, love to watch children play and lose their minds in the fresh snow.

The dark underside of a gull

rides the bleached air

Wings outstretched

destination unknown

Below lies an eiderdown

patched with the finest snow

Masked hedgerows

frame each field of white

The laughter of children

wanders into range

I watch as they mount

their home made sleds

Plumes of frozen dust

pollute the chilly air

A rain captured

by the tale of youth

Above the circling bird

and the dormant sun

An oval of wonder

spies another February day

Carried on each flake

sits a rattle of joy

Awaiting a gentle shake

from a small gloved hand
