You think this statue

befits her memory?

Daily I watch pigeons

redecorate my lovers form

You think those words

typed upon her tomb

Translated from Latin

truly capture the voice I hear?

You think history

thick with typos and smudge

Can rearrange her wisdom,

resemble the lost collage I embrace

You think her lips of concrete,

heavy with sex red gloss

Accepted my fumbling kiss,

seduced my mortal tongue?

You think Venus

with her lubricated thighs

Can fertilize my mere human seed

release upon the Earth a new deity?

You think my thump of sanity

knocks at the door of madness?

Dry your agnostic eyes

bow to the naked new born

and call him God
