Sober...

Poem By: Sewage
Poetry

Sitting in my European Union class in Sweden, and all of a sudden it came rushing out. But then again, if you know any of my work, it all comes out like that. I hope you like it, I haven't written in a while, so lets hope I still got it.

I can't seem to figure out which one its for though. But I'm pretty sure I'll figure out who she is eventually... View table of contents...

Daddy left before you were born,

Mommy by the time you were four.

And you question why…

Its gets so hard.

Spend your nights getting high…

Sometimes you go too far.

Have you ever wondered how,

It would be to move on.

Maybe you would see how,

It’s so much better to be gone.

It’s about time for you to leave that dusty little town,

There’s a whole world out there, and it’s not slowing down.

You keep walking but you’re standing still,

You say you want to leave but you probably never will.

Sometimes I wonder why I tried,

Because you really didn’t want my help.

It still hurts when I hear you cry,

I still remember how it felt.

Have you ever wondered how,

It would be to see the world sober.

Maybe you’d notice how,

You’re getting a little older.

It’s about time for you to grow up,

I’m not there to hold your hand, anymore.

Interesting read. I think you do a good job of showing the frustration felt. Nice job.

Thank you. Really, it comes through with no emotion, but when i think about it, I just sit confused and try to feel what i should be feeling...

Very well writen bro (it ME! I am under a new pename now incase i neva told ya). It seem like a letter to a younger friend telling them to get on with life and that they gotta start moving forward instead of dwelling in the past. I dont know if u meant it to be that but I liked it :D by da way is it directed to anyone u know in particular cause that would make it a lot easier to understand why u wrote it.

AM'S? Why'd you get a new pen name? What about all your work!? Well, its sort of a letter to a friend my age that just hasnt reach maturity, or is still waiting for other to bring it to her. I dont know who i wrote it to myself just yet, when i figure that out, I'll let you know. Did you fan me? And should i still be a fun under PURE or no?

People grow roots in a town over time. A tree like a person needs those roots.

But if that town is killing you slowly over time its time to leave. Like a tree on poisoned soil will eventually die, unless they are replanted somewhere new. And this town kills all of its inhabitants slowly over time. Trust me, i used to live there.

love it. you really captured the contrasting emotions of wanting to leave, but can't... or maybe i'm just seeing that from my point of view.

Thanks, you know what, you're not the first person to see it like that. Really I wonder sometimes what I'm trying to express in my poems, and I think other can see it better than I can...Thanks gg :), see you in June...
