Looking back I remember when I couldn't wait to grow up
Now I'm looking in the mirror all grown up
What happened to them days on the monkey bars
Riding bikes trying to keep up with cars
Dreaming one day we would be celebrities
Living life young and innocently
Wasn't thirsty for intercourse but thirsty for that cool-aid
Crazy how too much sugar could make a kid misbehave
Now cool-aid has turned to alchol
God how stress has consumed us all
What happened to them days that we thought would last forver
Thought they never die
Is that why they say "never say never"?
Now the closest of friends become distant
Then they become enemies
Why is this?
Why all the hostility?
Remember when everything was resolved with compromise
Now all confrontations are fist fights
Or ends up with a barrel between the eyes
As blowpops turn to blunts
As toys turn to guns
As sex is easier to get and love is harder to find
Them memories will never escape the hollows of my mind
Though if I had one wish...
I wish the 90's was where I lived
But what happened to them days?
What happened to them days?
