21st century woman
The new age woman
Is the mother of her destiny;
The sister of struggle,
The aunt of assertion,
The cousin of choice and challenge,
The widower of the parlour.
The new age woman
Performs a balancing act;
Holding her tears,
Squeezing her fears,
Holding her head high,
Balancing work, family, friends;
Faith, body, heart, mind.
The new age woman
A widow to silence.
Evolving to what end?
As she strives to encompass all
As she chips the glass ceiling
As she shatters the definition of a woman...
