Battling to reason with the Soul
She thought she could run away,
Turn her back and leave it behind,
Ignore the impossible desire
Assumption that stained her heart and mind.
Decades she kept her heart locked away,
Decades of dreaming she wished away,
Childishly leaving her mind to play,
Never realising they could reality sway.
An interview by co-incidence;
Only going through the motions;
Then his eyes started to sparkle,
Unlocking the imprisoned emotions.
Crumbling in the eye-light
Her barriers, her heart’s iron wall;
Slowly; unconsciously caving in,
The pieces started to fall.
She forced away from gravity,
Alone she turned, overwhelmed
At the overflowing volcano
Of feelings unreturned.
Her life became haunted,
Signs, stories, movies, poems,
All echoing her turmoil,
A struggle between mind and soul.
Faith clinging and insomnia;
When does unrequited love become erotomania?
