Duties and Expectations

Poetry By: Shannan Browne

It's Woman's Day in South Africa on the 9th August, so this poem is a little bit of hope and encouragement... keep shining girls, keep improving, keep right on being the best you can be :D ... {and if you don't want a king (or a queen ;) by your side, that's all great too :)}

Duties and Expectations

Be a perfect princess

That's what girls are told

For the prince who's on his way

For you to have and to hold

Study hard, improve your mind

For the knight arriving soon

He needs you as his guide

When he's shooting for the moon

Look after your golden beauty

A treasure for the future

A compliment to his duty

To love, honour and nurture

Empower your femininity

Be the woman you truly are

He will trust in your ability

To be a shooting star

True love is sharing everything

With the man destiny is sending

Because you deserve a king

When the queen in you is shining
