This is a poem that is currently being published in an anthology.
I tried to link the circular process of the meeting and the dating; with the expectation of ending with the circle of the wedding ring... but instead of being fun it goes from expectation to manipulation to tears and all the other chaos that's involved in what should be a loving, easy process... not fulling everyone else's expectations as often ends up happening.
At the end of the poem there's a double play on the phone call ring and the wedding ring...
Well I tried at least!
