Vicariously Through You

Poetry By: Shannan Browne

Internet friends in this day and age are underrated. Connecting with people around the world living through what you yourself are - you feel less alone when those around you don't seem to understand.

Vicariously Through You

I've read about your life

Through hurt and pain.

I've read as you've stumbled

And learnt again.

I've seen your soul

Through words along the way

As you've absorbed my pain

Touching my heart day by day

Your stories of loss

Your stories of love

Gifts in words

Blessings from above

Your boldness and strength

Have helped me through.

I feel less alone

After words from you.

Though we are miles apart,

You've touched my heart

Through a machine

Pain is eased.

Living is so easy for you

I'm only grateful for living

Vicariously through you.

Dreams I have no courage to explore,

But through your words I see

A greater life you beautifully adore.
