Butterfly Tears

by SheaRyhai (c) 2009

Fragile little butterfly,

fly away from my hands.

There's pain in these eyes

but you know I understand.

Dreams aren't meant to last

their for chasing.

Like the letters of this name

that I'm tracing.

Love you. Love me.

Can we be happy?

Yes life's complicated,

but love can't be overrated.

Picking petals only makes

the flower die.

No one's perfect it's okay

to break and cry.

Be True. Just be you.

Believe you'll make it through.

Who is he to even say,

you're not enough for him to stay.

You might think you'll never fly,

like a kite falling from the sky.

But change will come so just be ready,

hold that string tight, watch it fly steady.

Brave little butterfly

fly away to the sun.

I might have lost you

but I'm not the only one.

That's why you left these

tears on my pillow.

To remind me now and always

life is never simple.
