Daydreaming Again

A warm evening breeze rustles through the trees,
gently caressing the skin.
The sky is clear and the stars are out,
sparkling brightly, reflecting off the water.
A beautiful song is playing,
carried on the wind from a nearby cantina.
I sit on the beach listening to the waves
as they slowly come ashore.
I hear my name and turn;
and there you are standing behind me.
My heart skips a beat as I finally look into your eyes
and see the smile that brightens your face.
You reach out your hand
and pull me to my feet.
You pull me close to you and wrap your arms around me;
my head rests on your chest and I can hear your heartbeat.
We begin to dance to the music;
moving slowly together as one.
In this moment, the rest of the world
no longer exists.
I look up and am lost in your eyes;
they hold me captive and I don't want to be free.
Your hand touches my face;
and slowly you bring your lips closer to mine.
When they meet, it is like a fire,
starting out soft and slow.
Then it builds and grows, becomes so intense;
it takes my breath away.
There are no words necessary,
we both know what we feel.
Every part of my body is alive;
craving your nearness and touch.
You pull me closer to you;
and the fire is out of control.
Lost in this moment with you;
I could want nothing more.
You lie down on the sand, still warm from the sun;
and pull me down beside you.
You take my hand and put it on your chest;
then cover it with yours.
We lie like this for a long time;
touching, feeling, exploring.
Giving each other something wonderful and magical;
to be treasured for a lifetime.
