Alone in the background shrouded in soft hues of gray;
cloaked in the mist of the new dawning day.
Limbs that are brittle from the long winter's cold;
wanting and yearning for some warmth to enfold.
The winter a respite or so it would seem;
but ready for the new life that comes with the spring.
The sun in all it's glory a picture has painted;
all the colors so vibrant and will not be tainted.
With it's arms it reaches across the frozen pastures I see;
the warm glow it brings completely surrounds me.
The promise of renewal of new life to come;
the chance now to finish all that has not been done.
It is just around the corner, this time we call spring;
wishing and hoping that good things it will bring.
