My Special Hideaway

Sometimes I like to take a day

just to wander and to roam.

Over the hill and through the woods

where I can be alone.

The trees welcome me in

their branches reaching out to say hello.

The sun peeking throught them

bathing everything in a pale yellow..

There are signs of the winter

that is slowly taking it's leave.

Little patches of snow here and there

and still a slight crispness to the breeze.

As I move a little bit farther

the trees open up and the sun floods the ground.

Little sprouts of green here and there

nestled among the leaves of the fall that are still around.

The silence is soothing and calming to the soul

a place to leave all worries behind.

Listening to the birds and their songs

makes it easy to relax and rewind.

Time here doesn't matter at all

everything focused on the rising and setting of the sun.

So easy to get lost in your thoughts

and not think about things that need done.
