Life's Ponderings

Was thinking today about pebbles

and I realized there are so many similarites

between them and people.

Some are just silky smooth;

while others are a little rough around the edges.

Some that have been in the water are cold;

but if you hold them and caress them they become quite warm.

Some are endlessly being tossed about;

while others have anchored themselves in one spot unmoving.

So many different shapes, colors and sizes,

but this mixture makes up the whole.

Some stay in the sun just soaking up the warmth;

then share that warmth with those around them.

Some cluster together

making a beautiful mosiac .

Sometimes you see a lone one

isolated from the others;

As if watching and waiting and trying to decide

if they want to be part of the whole

or stand alone.
