The Heart Knows

Into the night like a bird

  my heart will take flight

With gossamer wings

  sparkling and bright

Through the deep endless sea

  of all those twinkling stars.

The journey will be long,

  and will take me so far.

Over a road filled with perils

  is where my journey starts.

To get to the one

  who holds the key to my heart.

Heartaches and disappointments

  together with anger and pain

Keep coming around

  and my spirit they drain.

The nights they went by

  and sometimes all hope was lost.

To try again was an option,

  was it really worth the cost.

To find what I'm missing

  and yearning for daily

The heart knows the reason

  and says yes just maybe.
