AT THE CROSSROADS OF LIFE

Standing at the crossroads of life,

One of which I am ought to take,

I see as far as my eyes can gaze,

A tinge of darkness looms in the distance.

Which makes my goals waver,

And make me disheartened.

But I can see the bright light,

Present in the vicinity to guide me,

Through the stark dark and nebulous road.

And, again at the crossroads of life,

My heart sinks and falters.

Tempted to take the easy way out,

Smothers me to pursue my Ithaka.

Madding me and putting in maelstrom.

“Easy way out is a transiently thing,

Don’t astray by the small wonders

Which will come following your way.”

This is what my sapient soul says.

And garbled with mixed emotions,

I listen to my inner-voice

Ever so deep and ever so serene,

Hoping against hope and emboldened.

Trusting my soul ingeniously,

I step on the road which will

Take me to my long cherished goal,

Though it be darkness in the distance,

But I have got my beacon of light!
