The winter winds that rushed to her face
That she protected with a certain grace
Her blown away hair that seemed ice cold
Her clothes held tight to avoid the cold

Walking to the porch steps she saw a fly
Upon seeing the creature she stifled a cry
For when it buzzed right through her hair
The buzz had whipered secrets of despair

She burst into the house, ran ever so quickly
Her actions, all controlled by shock and anxiety
But no matter how swift she hurried and prayed
It was too late; his soul would finally fade

Continuous tears fell from her face
Over the thing that she cared and would never replace
But certain was one thing she couldn't erase
Death was sure to occur in the most unexpected place
