Sleep...I wish

Poetry By: simplicityx4

I get insomnia each year around spring that lasts well into summer so I felt I would write about it!

My mind races I can't stop pacing You tell me let's go to bed Do you realize Id rather stay up instead I can't rest when in bed Its all because of the windings in my head I can't make them stop And yet the ticking continues from the clock I can't sleep even after taking the nightly cocktail It sure looks inviting but before I know it I hear the bell Its time to get up I am told I never get that extra hour of the bed's hold One night of sleep would be great Not all night but maybe just eight These are the things in my mind that keep racing on and on Never skipping a beat just keeping on
