A castle on a hill
The birds perching on the window sill.
Dancing through the arched corridor
Like a feather sweetly drifting in the wind.
The animals prance around me
The laundry piles up like the snow covered mountains
The chore list is a racing river flowing down the stairs
The bell rings once then again once more
They call for me to hurry
My feet are not mine as the scurry on the floor
Swiftly I carry another order to the door
When will this maid work end?
Running through the house like a mouse running from the cat
Children whine and call my name
Your never home, not around
Alone I sit to finish the work with dinner to cook
And monkeys running wild
I hold my tongue and simply smiled.
The evil of the house comes around to break me down
High pitch complaints and leaving me to drown
My day will come
And they will run
To give me my shoe the prince will do
Carried away in my gown
One day I will escape this town
And live happily ever after.
