She stands in the corner with no one around
She’s the girl in the wrecked clothes that nobody sees
Her smiles and laughs seem to fade more each day
And the boy just keeps talking and walking away
The girls with the riches and pearls and the rings,
walk beside her as if she’s just another thing.
She stands all alone in the back of the room waiting and wishing for someone
She tries to scream out for someone to heal her
but the only one listening is the one that she cannot see
Her arms wrap around her, and her head falls to her knees.
“Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means”
His mother is fading his father is gone
He has no one to save him from the pain they all give
Days pass by with more cuts and the burns
As he lies there waiting and watching for his turn
Looking up at the sky his hand fold so tightly
Prays for protection and love
“Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means”
Shes the wife of a business man
Working hard away from home
She sits at the door with ease
Maybe today he will walk home and this time stay
But another night he passes and turns her away
God please give me your love and take this away
They plead
Quietly waiting they all hear
“I will love you for you
Not for what you have done
Or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew”
