I've Become Soulless

Poetry By: sirenscalling
Poetry

I had a picture in my head--a picture of a girl in a pink, floaty dress, slumped in the corners; her dress was in blood-stained tatters, shoes were missing, honey blonde curls a matted wreck, shoes missing, and a blood-thirsty smile twisted on her face. Well I couldn't draw it! So I wrote this instead :)

Blank eyes stare,

black and soulless,

back at me.

A broken song

cuts through the air --

screams in the silence,

caught on the same word

for what seems like

forever.

The mirror cracks,

shatters,

tears at my skin,

and a smile

pulls at my lips

as the blood flows,

pouring out of me.

Warmth trickles down,

beautiful trails

of scarlet.

Layers of chiffon

hang off my shoulders

as I lift myself up

to meet your eyes,

which are so

dissatisfied --

as always.

My soul leaks out

from evey slit

leaving something dark,

twisted.

A lifeless body

and broken heart.
