Angels Strumming

Poetry

A poem that is nearly like a lullaby from a big sister to her baby brother.

Little pale baby
You once told me
You dream of Mama
Up in the clouds
But what happens
You can't see her
Can't feel her nearer
You long for her touch so closer
But little sweet baby
Let me just tell you
You have no clue
In the things that she do
Angels are strumming
Yes, she's an angel
Can't you hear her humming?
A sweet sleepy tune
Little tired baby
Look to the heavens
Where God's foot is a-tapping
David is harping
Saints are singing
And the angels are strumming
Beyond the dark dusted moonlight
Go take your eagle's flight
And when you wake in the morning
You won't be sorry
Listening to the angels strumming
Singing you to slumber all night
Oh dear Mama
Put me to sleep now
The house is quiet
The sun has gone down
Oh dear Mama
Oh how I love you
I hope you hear me praying
That you keep on strumming
