Compassion Goes a Long Way
Compassion goes a long way
When there are no words to say
To express outrage at secret shame
But to sit by their side
And say its okay
Compassion is a sign
That cries, "Love abides"
When there is no time
Someone committed a crime
A loved one drank after
Another one died
Or a girl cuts herself to death
After she cries and no one
Races to her aide
Now that's a reason to be ashamed
Compassion's there
When someone's disgraced
Love's sacred wait
When a son turns his face
Or when hopeful dreams
Suddenly go to waste
You never know
When friendships will end
Or flourishly begin
Because you didn't understand
Someone's hidden sin
Can hand you a friend
To help you on your way
This friend can keep you in line
Help you believe, study and pray
You see, Abba created this
To be done as a family
Not alone
If we just understood
God's soft heart
For the lowly, oppressed,
And downtrodden
If we would love
Instead of judge
The fire of revival
Would start to rekindle
Let's love each other
And be there for one another
Then the Bride of Christ
Would rise and win!
Can I get an "Amen!"?
