Dear Arianna

Poetry By: skilletgirl2

A poem about my old youth pastor's wife, whom I loved like a long lost sister. To her.

Dear Arianna
How have no clue
how much I miss you
I walked by your old apartment tonight
And your sweet smile was in my sight
I swear, most times I wish I could just run
And jump up into your arms
You could whisper to me the Psalms
Poor David's word a soothing balm
To my hurting heart
Just another reason is we're apart
I've got an amazing papa
But he doesn't understand me the way used to
With you, I felt like all of my enemies would rue
To my heart, yes to my pain
Where in my bubble, I could watch it rain
Dear Arianna
Your songs are my antidote
Please, my sister
Just sing one calming note
You had my heart
And distance stole it away
Now I beg on my knees
Can't you return for one more day?
Dear Arianna,
Since you left,
My world's been upside down
Like a pineapple cake
Except this flip was not fun or fake
My sweet Arianna,
please be blessed
If you aren't,
I'll just go back to being all depressed
I love you, Arianna
Don't let your precious face
Cook in the sauna
Of homesickness and anxiety
Because the truth is,
All along,
I've been drowning
And now
I'm dying. . . sighing. . . breathing. . .
Now I'm dead
