In the morning that's still dark
I awake with a troubled heart
Words left unsaid and memories not dead
Leave me to reminisce in sorrow
I try to put a smile on my face,
But all can see right through
My sadness is as clear as crystal
Raw and cutting and readable
I need you, my Lord
Come right now, to my side
And give me your joy!
May laughter burst within my soul
Let this be a new day of rejoicing!
I am your Daughter, you give good gifts
This all I need right now, and I am hoping
In confidence you'll fulfill it
Remind me that in the blink of an eye
I'll let all my sorrows go
There will be no more tears or days of depression
Just my King and my brothers, worshiping together
This is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Help me, Lord, and give me strength
To smile and shine through this day
