When I Get There

When I get there

Breathe in the sweet smell of grace in the air

My name's Ruthie and I am sad

But when I get to Heaven, I'll be very glad

My best friend Hannah is dead and gone

Although she's in the place where she belongs

I miss Hannah day by day

But the hope that's coming will chase away all the pain

I know she's free to run and play

Like I'll be, when I get there someday

I'll run by her side until I'm all out of breath

Down to the pasture where we'll lay and rest

Look at the clouds floating by in the wind

Remember the times when we'd play Frisbee and swim

We'll dream all day, I'm sure nobody will care

All I have to do is wait until I get there

We had a dream, that she and myself

We would climb Mt. Everest, and not a bookshelf

For she and I, we liked to have fun

And we kept ourselves busy if we couldn't be in the sun

But when I get there, all of it won't matter

The sun will always shine and we'll always have nice weather

I miss my friend, but I believe

I'll see her again and we'll climb trees

We'll get into mischief and still be perfect

The angels will watch us, we won't sweat it!

When I get there, gonna have fun by Hannah's side

When I get there, gonna enjoy eternal life!
