The strength valve of my heart
Beats only half-way
The war scars on my tender tissue
Are perpetually to stay
My ticker beats with frightened anticipation
What I need
Is a very strong love prescription
My cardio doctor's
On a leave . . .
Oh my soul, I question
Who will heal me?
The heartache hotline
Is just out of reach
Now what ailment
Shall I seek?
I lay my head
Down on the floor
Laying half-dead
At the saving altar
Just then,
My muscles of life
Suddenly but unarguably
Have revived
I crawl to my knees
Skeptical, but believing
The cross has came to my aid,
Removed my masquerade
Given me holy CPR
And mended my broken heart
I stand on my feet
Determination crafted
In my scratched face
The word around my neck,
Clinging to my staff-- faith
I lift my sword
To swing again
Because this time
I will win!
