Take your kin, and hold them tight
Tell them you love them, regret no word
Treasure what is important, let go of old
The pain is new, the wounds are fresh
Nothing will make it hurt any less
We’re a nation that’s violence speaks loud
It never seems safe anywhere
I'm scared of the future
What will happen, how will we cope?
Our freedom is abused, to do senseless acts
I often wonder why and I often wonder how
But there never seems to be an answer
Not one I understand anyhow
I walk the hollowed walls
Looking for solace that’s seems not found
All the news reports, break me inside
But through tragedy there is hope
Through darkness there is light
I know we won’t find it, at least not tonight
But someday it will shine through
Just look up to the sky
Don't regret life, don't let it pass you by
