Mashup poem of Lolita and some Anne Sexton

Poetry By: sleepingwithsirens

Well I LOVE Lolita and Anne Sexton so I decided to take bits from each and create a mashup poem. All rights for the lines used goes to Vladimir Nabokov and Anne Sexton or their publishers. Read and comment your thoughts?

"It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight."
And she was mine, she was mine, and the key was in my fist
But all day I've built a lifetime
And now the sun sinks to undo it
She sinks to her knees to undo it
She says to me
"Oh, don't cry, I'm so sorry I cheated so much, but that's the way things are."
That's the way things are...
Yet love enters my blood like an I.V.,
dripping in its little white moments
See even without wars life is dangerous
Lolita, Lo-lee-ta: She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning
Dolores on the dotted line
But in my arms she was always Lolita
O starry night, This is how I want to die
Now I'm borrowed and numb
This love is an infection
Almost like suicide
You see, suicide is the opposite of a poem
I was a pentapod monster, but I loved you. I was despicable and brutal, and turpid, and everything, mais je t'aimais, je t'aimais!
The key is in my fist but I shall rip my hand from hers
Now I am going back
And I have ripped my hand
From your hand as I said I would
And I have made it this far ...
I felt my life needed a shake-up
And there was no Lo to behold
You see love is where yesterday is at
Only the typewriter sits before me
This is the only immortality you and I may share
And the rest is rust and stardust
