Trees

I look at the trees as I drive along
All barren and sad and bare
No leaves to keep them warm
But they don’t seem to care

They know when winter’s over
And we’re heading into Spring
They’ll see their buds shooting
Leaves spreading everywhere

Come Summer they know
When the weather is so hot
We’ll take shelter under their leaves
Catch our breath in their shadow

The wind blowing through them
Makes such a wonderful sound
Then when come the Autumn
Their leaves fall on the ground

What joy it brings to me
Kicking up leaves for fun
Seeing the myriad of colours
From gold to russet to brown

I look at the trees as I drive along
All barren and sad and bare
Three seasons of joy they bring
Now I know why they don’t care.

I really like this poem ! Very moving as well. The thing I miss most in winter is green leaves and the autumn brings beautiful gold colours and mellow days...

There should be more trees around definatly. A bare winter tree has its one kind of beauty. Makes you want to take black and white pictures to capture the texture and the outline.

If I could vote more than once I would. This poem is brillant.

Peace

This poem is very nice. However, I do not think that the summary does the poem justice. Perhaps you should rework it...
Overall, this poem was one of the best that I have read in a while. Keep up the great work!

I have read your poem again snowbelle and I like it even more.

Unlike you I grew up in a big city and then moved away to the country. Although I lived in a city I was lucky to have a lot of trees around close by. Walking the dog through the woods kicking the leaves around in autumn is a happy memory I will have forever.

I am with Mum55 on this one....

More soon please
Peace

Awesome Poem Snow! I love trees. I like to sit outside on my front porch and close my eyes just to hear the breeze rustling the leaves. It always seems to me like each tree has its own personality. Loved this! I need to read more of your older poems!

This is beautiful, snowbelle. Wonderful imagery, wondeful concept. Talented, in the way that it's all about trees, which could have turned out dull, but you conveyed it most fantastically. Provokes a nice feeling of solace. Lovely.
