Every Day Life

The sun is shining
It’s a beautiful day
I sit watching the world go by
Waiting impatiently for my love

A walk by the river
The wind in my face
To walk with my lover
At a leisurely pace

Nothing to rush home for
Just you and me
We have no room for anyone else
Hand in hand together
We chat and laugh about nothing particular

Just enjoying each others company
Two lovers they see but take no notice
No-one to judge us, they don’t care
Too wrapped up in themselves

Too wrapped up in each other
How insular we are
We have no need for others
They just distract us from each other

We sit by the river in silence
No need for words, that look says it all
The sun glints in your hair
You look so happy
You seem to have no cares

Suddenly it’s over and the clouds appear
Back to real life we have to go
Back to pretending everything’s fine
But we know the pain of every day life
And the things that keep us apart….

A wonderful and moving poem Snow, good word choice and a wonderful if painful images.

Sometimes the "insular" time makes the real life more bearable with its pain and seperation. Even with clouds the sun reappears. Even dark winter gives way to spring.

I wish you peace and better times

A very good poem I like it a lot.....

I live by a river and love nothing better than to walk along the banks marvelling at how peaceful it all is just the lap of the water and the sound of swans and ducks........

Loved walking along the banks with my love as well now I walk with my little girl and she loves it

Another fantastic write

Be true
